Are You Just Using Google?

Tips

Google has been the talk of the internet world for so long it seems like they are the only search engine out there. It is not difficult to wonder why Google is always the search engine mentioned. They found a way to clean up the internet and offer some pretty great tools. They are a large influence on the internet, as well as the stock market. Google is basically where Yahoo started. As we can see by the evidence it is hard to stay on top. There is nothing stopping someone else from coming out with a better search engine in the next several years, where Google will be a memory. However, that is not my point. The point is that there are other search engines out there. These other search engines have something to offer the public internet users. We already see that some individuals prefer MSN over Yahoo or Google over MSN.

This preference to a search engine is what you need to look for. You can use other search engines for your search engine optimisation. In fact you should have more results in more than one search engine. You should have it in all of them. By using more than just Google or the big three you are able to increase your traffic by 15 to 20 percent. It would be to your benefit to engage all consumers in your target range. That is the point of SEO after all.

Don’t ignore the other search engines. It does take some work to learn the rules of the other search engines, but once you know what they are you can start gearing towards all. This may mean that you have an affiliate site which caters specifically to the other search engines, or it may just mean submitting your site to be logged in the index.

This advice does not just stop at search engines. It also can go towards the various browsers. There are several browsers on the web. For example IE is the most typical as it comes with most computers. You also have FireFox, Google Chrome, Crazy Browser, Netscape, etc. These browsers can work in different ways. We’re not talking about how it is set up and how it looks. Pretty much all browsers have tabs to open up multiple pages and the same menu choices. What we are talking about is how the page displays.

It may be a surprise to some of you, but your pages are not going to look the same with all browsers. Browsers have been created with different properties, which make them unlike the others. These differences are why you might want one over the other. The same can be said of your clientele. You need to make sure that your website will appear on all browsers properly. In other words that the links work, the text appears, and that there are no errors. By using different browsers and search engines your search engine optimisation can be working harder for you.
